538: This is the year that the king of Korea sent the Japanese Yamato court a small gilt bronze Buddha statue, some Buddhist scriptures and a letter that was praising Buddhism. This is when buddhism was introduced into Japan. Today there are around 70% of Japanese people that are Buddhist.
710: In 710 The Capital City of Japan was moved from Asuka to Nara. This was the first permanent Capital City.
1274: In 1274 the mongols attacked Japan. They were led by kublai Khan. In 1268 Kublai Khan sent a letter to Japan. Threatening the country to either summit by paying tribute or suffer invasion.
